The question is not weather it is worth 10k but is it worth 10k to you?
Can you build a better one for less?

I think you could do better by buying a nice driver longbed for 4500 and bagging it yourself, looks like the frontend has never been touched on that truck and the rear notch is a little over the top.

local guy here. with the way the front upper cups are sitting on the lca's you would expect to go up about 4" for the bags. truck has been for sale for a bit now. i would agree with lt1. you should find a 63-66 that dosn,t have the torsion front. good luck either way.

Is there any travel in that front end? Way too low for static front. Might as well be mounted solid.

Re: help on 61 lwb purchace

Nice truck.... here is my 2 cents: The 60-62 is a lot different then the 63-66.The 67-72front suspension will not bolt on and the rear ends are 60-62 specific, newer years require some mods to fit, So "laying frame" can be a challenge that maybe why the owner has not installed the front bags that come with it.
It still has the single reservoir brake/clutch master cylinder. Swapping to a dual reservoir and separate clutch master is a little more involved .
The front bearings are crazy expensive too. You can swap out the hubs ,or convert to disk brakes ,but you will definitely need a dual brake master.
I have a 60 and I am happy with her I have the torsion bars cranked down and 3" springs out back. But if I wanted a slammed truck I would go with a 63,if you like the wrap around windshields or 64-66 if you don't.
I would pass but It really comes down to what you like As mentioned what is it worth to you?

Re: help on 61 lwb purchace

Well...i did the trade...im pretty happy...i actually got to talk with the original owner that built it...torsion bars are removed and lca's have been stepped using newer style ball joint ends...upper arms are stretched and pie cut to keep inline...its resting on temp. Bumpstops untill the bags get installed in the front...overall im happy with it...a few things here and there...ive got stuff ordered to do the bags in front
