67 chevrolet truck owners !!

Has any of pre 67 chevy owners done the washer trick to put a power steering gear box on ?

I'm getting ready to swap a 1972 disc brake front end into my 67. I plan to upgrade to PS at the same time. When I do, I will space the steering box out from the frame with washers.

I've heard of others doing it, but this will be my first experience with it. I think one of our members, Frank at Frank's PickMUps did this before.

i did. i used i think 3 spacers per bolt. works fine it needs to go out 1/4 inch from the frame to clear

Mine is done with some solid spacers vs washers...a little cleaner look, but same effect.

How thick are yor spacers. Where did you buy them or did you have them made? Thanks!

Size:  57.0 KBI have a 67 c10 that by the SPID or the Po's fenderwell fab should not have power steering. This box does not have washers what's up???

I have heard of people heating the frame and molding it to where the washers are not required. Also saw somewhere where a guy just put a hole in the frame so it clear. I didn't do that on mine I just used washers, I don't know about everyone else but mine needs the steering recentered from the washers moving the box out.

They were on the truck when I purchased it. I'm guessing they are a little less than 1/4"...haven't measured them. Here is a pic:
