That old 53 trans has bushings instead of roller bearings on the mainshaft. However you can install the guts from a 55 thru 64 Muncie 3 speed in your trans case. Ive did it many decades ago. I don't remember just what parts I used on the outpuit shaft to retain the closed drive line.

He's in Germany folks so he can't run out to Napa and pick up parts.

Geri as far as ball bearings go you should be able to find those locally if you take the old bearings into the local parts store or bearing store. There is no need for you to pay the high shipping costs on ball bearings that may have come from Germany originally anyhow.

From the Classic parts website. The gasket set

Some pieces here https://www.chevsofthe40s.com/dept/T...+Bushings.html

This outfit has gears and synchronizes and small parts kits.
They also have gaskets.

The kit that Dave showed in post #3 while I was searching several sites seems to be your best bet.

Re: Rebuild kit for a 1953 3-Speed Transmission

Happy new Year.

I allready received my rebuild kit. But now i have a new problem with the roller bearings (needle bearings). Dissasembling was easy ....but the rebuild of this litte needles is very tricky.
Have someone special tricks for me to replace them?

I always use white lithium grease (Lubriplate) to hold needle bearings in place. Sticky enough to hold, but not to thick to affect spacing. Also is compatible with tranny greases and oils.
