58/59 hood on a 56

Anyone know what's involved in putting a 58/59 hood on a 56?

putting 58/9 fender on, then the hood would have a nasty over bite. 55/7 fenders are shorter by 2.5" as is the hood

I have seen it done, sounds like a lot of work but I might try shortening up the hood.

I might suggest you cut the recess out of a 58 hood and put it in a 56 hood. That would be much easier that modifying a 58 hood to fit a 56

I found a 59 hood I'm going to measure it out and see if I can make it look right. Thanks for the reply.

So is the distance from the radiator support to the firewall 2.5" shorter on 55-57 compared to 58/59? I'm thinking about buying a 55 and putting a Cummins in it and don't want to cut myself short on room for it.

Radiator support to firewall distance is the same 55.5 -59, difference is longer frame rails at front for the longer fenders and hood. Hood hinge mounts are different too early to late.
