Windshield Install Dificulty
I need to install the windshield back onto my 65 C10. Now I know you need to place the new rubber windshield weatherstrip in the sun first then install it onto the windshield then put it on there and run a 1/4" rope from the bottom and as you pull the glass goes on but do you need to also use some sort of sealant? If you do then I need to research no further and call a glass shop because I will make a freaking mess. Thanks...

Re: Windshield Install Dificulty
Up here, my windshield is worth $500. When the time comes to install it, I think I'll pay a pro glass shop to do it. Not saying it can't be done at home, it's covered in our FAQ. Just figure out how precious the windshield is to you. Good luck.

Re: Windshield Install Dificulty
Damn dude! WHere are you? I can get a new windshield installed on my 65 for $180 plus the weather strip of course. I do have the original windshield that is good but for $180 I'm sure it's almost the cost of labor to install mine. I was just thinking of trying to install mine. If it breaks I don't care but my fear is of scratching the new paint. My main dilemma is I'd have to borrow a truck and trailer to take it to the shop.

Re: Windshield Install Dificulty
Had two fellows come out and install both my original windshield and back window with new seals. They had to be super careful as there is a repaired star in the windshield and watching them do it I would never attempt to do it myself. Was $160 for their labor no sealant btw... Money well spent

Re: Windshield Install Dificulty
I just installed my winshield by myself on my 66' it took some time but I think it went well. Two things that helped, I watched a video on YouTube on how to in stall the window and got a hook tool, the video give me that idea and it worked well.
