I've always wondered why the BellTech's are rated for 6", while the DJM is only 5"...same parts, looks like..hmm..anyone know?

Look at the bump stops on the BellTech kit they are taller. Yeah that's what it is, the bumpstops are taller...

Could it be related to the variaton in the amount of drop you get based on the thickness of the spring pack? My understanding is that you get more drop if you have more leaves. Maybe one vendor states the maximum you can get and the other states the minimum.

Are you talking about the C-Notch portion of the Flip Kit? If so, I'm not debating that here, I'm debating the difference in the actual FLIP KIT and what makes it 5" or 6"...

Is wester chassis the same as chassis tech. That what I get up north here at a shop and they claim it's the best..and for all I know it is. I don't know about if I got the full six inches out of my drop though.

the only way belltech could make there flip lower than any other flip would be in the design of the saddles if the saddle were designed taller, as in the "U" shaped portion moved up further that would drop it more. it would be like adding a 1 inch drop block on a flipped axle

The difference in drop is going to be the difference in the thickness of the spring pack. They advertise them as different rates based on 'typical' installations & don't guarantee the 'exact' amount of drop because of variances in different vehicles.

No, the two companies are not the same. Chassis Tech (AIM Industries, Truckin' Suspension, etc.) has a poor quality and service reputation. Stay far away from their components.

i have seen shAIM flip kits, and owned their shackles, hangers, and drop spindles. i have also owned a Western Chassis setup including flip kit, c-notch, shackles, and spindles. the shAIM parts were visibly cheaper (casting flash on the spindles, welds werent as good of quality) than the WC stuff. there is NO way that these two products are "the same".

$10 difference, big deal.

I've had both WC and DJM flip kits for my previous truck. I was more impressed w/ DJM's product. The finished product looked much better---Powdercoat is durable, the holes were drilled straight, and the edges were nicely finished. The WC kit was on the "rough" side. I observed this in both flip kits I purchased from them.
