Changing Window regulators

My buddy gave me two window regs and I need to put them in my 67. How far do I have to take the door down to change them? I laos need to change the latch on one door while I'm in there. Am I looking at a 2 hour job or 8??? Its been 11 yrs since I was in one of these doors and I've forgotten.

Re: Changing Window regulators

if i'm not mistaken, the vent window needs to come out in order to change the regulator. I always HATE dealing with the vent window removal. I think your safe with a 2 hour or less guesstimate.

Re: Changing Window regulators

2 hours start to finish sounds in the ball park for the first time. You can probably cut that down to an hour if you really grasp what you're doing for the second one. The wing window for sure has to come out, and I think i did one side with the door handle mechanism in, and one side with it out, and it was a pain with the one staying in. They aren't that hard to replace when you get everything aligned right, it's just tricky because you can't see everything easily. Best of luck!

Re: Changing Window regulators

I had the best luck loosening the vent window and having a second person just hold it up and out of the way. Once you get the window back on the track try and get the vent window and door glass postioned at the same time. I think if you search it someone wrote up a nice article on doing this on the forum.
