gas ground
OK was at junkyard Sunday and someone picked up on the bed of this one...my question is, is this wire on the frame a ground for the sender to make the gas gauge work properly. Thanks.

Re: gas ground
Only the right side seems to have it...which one is the main tank, left or right? Thanks.

Re: gas ground
Yes. The other tank will have a ground on the side of the frame rail, as I recall - at least it is not on the top.

Re: gas ground
it appears to be the wire should go to a male clip on the top of the float assembly . these often become loose or get crud on them causing reading issues on the guage

Re: gas ground
From 1973 up to about 1980 (I think), the standard tank location is on the right side. So when the dual tank option was added the auxiliary tank went on the left.
But for 1981-up, the standard tank was moved over to the left side. Making the right side the auxiliary tank on dual tank trucks. |
