From someone that works on vehicles everyday, That is a Bad idea!
You will have the press the U-joint on with the Yoke on the Transmission. This will be easy from the top without the cab & exhaust. But try to do that from under a finished truck.

What size U-joint does that take?

does that act as a slip yoke or is it bolted on the tail shaft like the stock 3 prong is?

its a bolt on yoke, that's why you have to use the 400 bolt on yoke the 6l80e slip yoke is not right because you will half to press the u joint together in the truck the 400 that I used bolts together like the differential end look at the pictures and you will see what we art talking about. P S the slip is in the drive shaft like the 4by4s

Ok, thanks for answering my next question about where the slip is coming from..

BTW, do you have a part number for that TH400 yoke? and what did you have machined? Just matched the 3 prong?

Edit: Ok, I see the link for it now that Clinebarger put up for the 400 yoke.

:yep just take your 3 flange yoke to the machine shop w/your 400 to go by, the 400 BOLT ON yoke can be found on ebay

This is the tailend of my 6l80e.supposedly its the tail end of a sts-v. Has anyone seen this version? I got tranny off craigslist had no idea it had this done to it.now having trouble with mounting it to xmember.
First pic is tail end and second pic is the mount this guy had made for it. check this out..local drivetrain shop said they wouldnt have problem making me a custom driveshaft.
