K20 TH350 TC/Flywheel inspection cover

Just wondering what type of cover should I have for a 72 K20. I have a black plastic one that came off when I rebuilt the trans but it was pretty beat up and brittle. Ive seen the HD aluminum covers with rods and such but not sure what is correct for my truck, anyone know for sure?

Thanks

Re: K20 TH350 TC/Flywheel inspection cover

When I converted my '71 K10 from the sm465 4spd to 350TH auto I needed the flywheel cover. Doing a bit of research I found that the correct cover would be just the sheet metal or plastic cover with no support rods. The support rods/aluminum covers came along later in the square body trucks. Not sure what year, had an '82 Suburban 4wd that had that setuup. Hope that helps.

No brace rods were used, I think, till 700r4s?...maybe? I've had '72s with both rubbery plastic and tin. I'm not sure what the lowdown is on that.
