For light items I typically use the post office, priority mail. For the items you are describing, I'd use Fedex Ground service. Fedex ground items are given the same treatment as UPS, but in my experience the Fedex price is alwasy better.

There is however a drawback. The fair prices are best when you can go directly to a Fedex (or UPS) shipping counter. When you go to a retail shipping outlet, they always throw in extra fees.

You'd have to determine if there is a direct drop counter within a reasonble distance from where you are shipping. Good luck, and wrap the items as snug as possible!

Word to the wise....
From an x 11 year manager at UPS.....
BEFORE you ship them with anyone.....get something from them in writing that says the packages are packaged correctly. If you dont and you ship them and they damage them.....they can possibly deny your claim.

I've always had good luck with UPS, prices seem pretty reasonable.

Not to hijack the thread, but has anyone shipped a gas tank before? Who did you use? Does UPS deliever this size item? Any price estimates?

Thanks

I guess I have bad luck with UPS, they have damaged EVERY thing they have ever shipped me. I refuse to use them for outgoing items.
We deal with UPS at work all the time, we redo there rads and fuel tanks. When ever I go in there you see boxes that have fallen off the conveyer belt, boxes that have been throwm around, ect. One of out mechanics worked there and says this is the norm.
