Re: Gasket @ fuel line/carb?
Ok... I bought a new fuel inlet gasket & it's still leaking. The new inlet gasket isn't exactly the same as the old one. The old one is a coated metal ring. I'm also leaking at the fuel line/fuel pump (out) connection. Is there something I'm missing here? It was not leaking like this a few days ago. Also, does the brass type fuel filter, that's behind the fitting pictured above, have a specific direction it has to go in? ...as soon as I can get her to stop leaking, I think she'll be road ready.

Re: Gasket @ fuel line/carb?
Where exactly is it leaking?
On the gasket, the brass fitting or the hose? You could double up on the gaskets. The filter goes in with the open end towards the outside. |

Re: Gasket @ fuel line/carb?
It's leaking around the threads of the fuel line @ the fuel pump, & between the carb & fitting. ....FYI its a Monojet 1 barrel of a I6 (250).

Re: Gasket @ fuel line/carb?
I had that same leak at the carb and couldn't get it to stop. I decided to replace the fitting that holds the spring and filter in but couldn't find one at the LAPS. Finally realized that the guys who race use carbs and went to the local speed shop. They fixed me right up. The other end could be threads ,fitting, flare or the inside of the fitting on the fuel pump. It could also be a crack in the fuel line. Close inspection should tell you which.
