Help with my heater

Hello everyone, the heater on my 68 C-10 has stopped working. when I first got the truck the heater worked but it would not blow very hard. Then one day it just stopped. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks-JP

If the blower won't blow, I would check the fuse first.

Check the fuse as advised, check the wire connection at the fan under the hood, then run a hot wire to it from the battery and see if the fan motor starts to run. If not unhook the wire don't leave it energized or you'll burn up the motor. Take the shroud off the firewall and see if theirs leaves or something in there keeping the fan from working. Also check heat control and see if it's hooked up. The middle control on your heater switch has a cable that opens a little door that allows the flow of air from your heater core to pass into your mixing box in the cab. That might not be opening allowing the air from your fan getting in the cab.

thank you for the advise everyone. I have replaced the fuse already and nothing happened. is the little door that you are talking about the small one on the passenger side of the cab? -JP

Yes, if it doesn't open you can't get any hot air from the heater core.

There is a switch located behind but on the heater control. The switch is probably bad if it just quit working. Here is a link for the switch.

I think the door you are referencing is the access door to where the cable hooks to the other door that lets the hot air through.

Whether the internal door is open or not, you will get air blowing if the fan is working, the door just controls if the air is hot or not as hot.
