What did you get done 1/11/15 edition

this week was kinda cold and crappy out so I didn't get much done except to sell my firetruck . This morning a guy came with a lowboy and picked it up.. its off t becoming a farm truck. I ordered the plow setup fr the 70 so I have new controls and hopefully I can get that in soon
How about you all?

Re: What did you get done 1/11/15 edition

Put a few miles on the C-10 this weekend, finally. My 50 was part of a 10 truck display sponsored by Geico at a local car show (all new cars). Played around with my Model A project, figuring out how much I'm going to channel it.

Re: What did you get done 1/11/15 edition

I swapped my headlights for Jeep JK (07+ Wrangler) and sprayed the bezel with plastidip. I need to figure out how to get the rest of the trim off so I can black it out... luckily if I decide I don't want it black, it's pretty easy to remove plastidip.

Got a really nice working toolbox for my '82 for $50. Gonna paint it this summer.

It's amazing what a wet paper towel will do

Re: What did you get done 1/11/15 edition

Pulled the cluster out of the 86 C20 I have recently picked up. It didn't have any gauge illumination at all, plus 2 of the gauges where inop. So stripped the cluster down and painted it bright shinny chrome. New 194 bulbs, replaced the fuses on the inop gauges. They seam to work now. It also Had a factory clock. It didn't work so removed it, replaced with SW Vacuum gauge which matches the stock gauges fairly close.
Any one need a clock for parts, Let me know I'll send it to yea.
I also scrubbed the metal dash panel and everything I could reach. Thank fully the truck was never smoked in.

Started on my Vintage Air install. Got the old heater box, defrost ducts and blower motor out of the way.

Put a heater water flow control in so can shut it down when warm and off in summer.

Re: What did you get done 1/11/15 edition

Yesterday installed my rack. I used rubber base molding between the rack and bed to keep rust from forming underneath.

Then I had to take it right back off. Sold the truck today. He paid for it and is picking it up Thursday. I sure hope I get this house.
