'72 Tilt steer column..rebuild $ vs. new $
I am looking for a cost analysis/or opinions between buying parts/levers/seals/ special column tools/service manual to rebuild a '72 C-10 factory tilt steer, column shift vs. buy new w/ALL NEW made in USA Ididit or Flaming River. Also, which manual would include step by steps....shop service or chassis service?? DO new ones use factory shaft & style connecting(w/rag joint) to gear box or require new shaft halves and a u-joint? Spline to double D adapter? Time is not a factor and I have the skills. OR.. IS A vendor available that rebuilds factory units????

RogerKoop, Kev's Classics and 70shortfleet all do outstanding work and can rebuild yours. There are more guys here that can rebuild one for you, but those are the guys that I can think of right now.

I have seen reviews one the aftermarket ones and if I was you I'd buy from one of the guys on the forum here. They have a great reputation for building nice columns at a great price.
Just noticed your from Paducah, Ky. I got a friend that lives there.

Thanks for rebuild names and I would use site vendors for new. HAH! I have a cousin that has worked 3-4 day contracts in KC a few times.

Nothing better than factory GM the fit, the quality, the looks.
Yes I have had to repair Ididits and Flaming river. The Japanese ones I throw away.
