alot of people do. you have a more desireable rear end as you can take the axles out of a 71-72 and just slide them into your housing for a 5 lug conversion

Ok thanks for the info. I plan on narrowing the rear end when I weld on the torino housing ends. What is the overall width of the rear end on the earlier style? Wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface. Originally I planned on doing 2"off each side but if I did that I would only be what a stock width rear would be right? So maybe I should do 3"'-3-1/2"
