Bolt on exhaust

Has anyone ever used a bolt on exhaust system. I need to replace my rusted out pipes. Is there a brand anyone would recommend. I want to bolt on because it seems easy and cost effective

Re: Bolt on exhaust

I used a bolt on from lmc for my 250. Its ok but not great. The front pipe was about 4 inches too long, hung really low and looked bad so I cut out the extra length and welded it back together. I had to weld the piece I cut out onto the back so it could still reach the next section. Then I had to paint the front pipe so it wouldn't rust. I would not recommend it to someone who doesent weld. I can tell it leaks out of all the connections too and will weld those together eventually but it still runs quiet as is. All in all though I don't really believe there is such a thing as a bolt on exhaust but that's maybe just me being picky.

Size: 25.0 KB you can see it's leaking here. I don't hear it but it still bothers me cause I know it there lol. Every connection looks like that exept for where it attaches to the exhaust manifold. It made a good seal at the mani.

Re: Bolt on exhaust

I bought my dual exhaust kit for my 72 with 350 from Autoanything.com. it was Heartthrob brand and for around $200 for the complete kit, was well worth the money. It fit very nicely

Re: Bolt on exhaust

LMC also sells Heartthrob http://www.heartthrobexhaust.com/

I bought one a year or so ago but later found a guy who installed a custom dual exhaust for about $100 more than I paid for the box set. To me it was worth the $100 not to have to mess with it so I sold the bolt on for about what I paid to board member Kingsolver. You can check with Scott, but he told me he was happy with it.
