72-350 alternator placement
Is the correct placement of the alternator on a 72 K10 w/350 and power steering and power brakes on the right or left side? I currently have mine on the right (passenger) side, but most photos I see (which aren't many) it shows it on the driver side. Also, what would the correct mounting brackets look like?
Also, would anyone have a photo of the correct throttle cable for this setup? I bought one that was for a 72 K10, but it seems like it's about 4" to long

Re: 72-350 alternator placement
1972 & earlier trucks originally used a short water pump and had the alternator located on the driver side.
The passenger side alternator mounts are typically used with long water pumps as found on 1969 & later cars and 1973 & later trucks. See posts #12 and #17 by lolife99 in this thread --> http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=496392 for some pics of the stock alternator mounting brackets. |

Re: 72-350 alternator placement
Thanks Ray, I checked out the link and photos. I guess I'll now be starting my hunt for those correct brackets.
