17x8's with 275/60/17

Is anyone running this wheel and tire combo all the way around? I am thinking of getting a set of torque thrust II's in this size for my 71. If anyone has any pics of wheels and tires this size I'd love to see them!

I'm looking for that height, but a wider 50 series tire. Anybody know what the numbers would be on that?......................................Jerry

Bamm: I am running 275/60's all the way around with 8" wide front wheels and 10's in the back. I wanted to keep the 275/60's on the front but go to a wider tire in the rear. From what I have seen the only tires out there that are similar in sidewall and overall hieght is a drag radial 305 or 325 50. The 295/50's are shorter and would look odd if I didn't go to a smaller tire up front.

If anyone else knows of a tire that may work, I would be interested to hear about it.

wow tx that is cool. I like the look I have the 275/60 but on a 15 inch wheel right now and would like to have the same on the 17 like yours I just like to have the taller sidewall rather than the big wheels and short sidewall JMO. Any more pictures would be great maybe a direct side shot. I am also curious about how much clearance between the bed and tire on the inside.

Front is also 17x8 with 5 inch backspacing. Front tires are 255/50/17.

Lowered 4.5 in front

I'll post better pics tomorrow when I get home from work.

hey tx... with the front lowered 4.5 (drop spindles and 2 inch springs right?) did you have any driveability problems? like speed bumps and such..... and what else did you have to put... like adjustable panhard on rear, relocate shocks and all...
im thinking this is how much i wanna drop my 70.....

No problems at all with the whole set up.

Front is 2.5 spindles, 2 inch springs and KYB shocks
Rear is Early Classic 4 inch springs, home made 2 inch lowering blocks, ECE adjustable panhard bar and shock relocator kit with more KYBs.

No rubs, scrapes or any other ill stuff. I won't tolerate such things on my trucks. I've done enough of these to figure out what works for me.
