Inner fender Mounting Grommets

I ordered a set of Inner fender Mounting Grommets (the rubber washer that goes on the hole in bottom rear inner fender where it bolts to the bracket that bolts to the cab) from Bowtie Bits. and they seem much smaller in diameter than the originals. Is this common? Do other companies sell the right size? They are much smaller than the mettle washer that goes around them.

Also when I took the original bolts out there is a mettle sleeve around the bolt. is that supposed to come off or is it part of the bolt?

Re: Inner fender Mounting Grommets

The original ones are like 2-2.5 if i recall correctly. I'm not quite to that part in my restoration, but i did notice they are smaller. I don't think it actually matters once installed though.

Re: Inner fender Mounting Grommets

Looking at the conditions of my originals.....the repops will be an upgrade. I will measure the originals tonight though for reference.

Bringing this back up. Anyone got a good source for grommets that fit correctly?

Re: Inner fender Mounting Grommets

Maybe this will help. It's been too long for me to recall the correct size required.
