383

I love mine, in my 69 camaro. Roughly 525hp. You can build them cheap too. First ran 13-1/2 compression pistions, way to much for the street. Now 11-1/2, just fine on 93octane. Gets around 8mpg with an 850holley, th350 trans, 5,500stall, and 3.55 rear. 6in rods, Dart heads, cam lift is around 630 can't remember. runs fine through town, I only worry about the trans.

I REALLY WANT ONE for my truck. They seem fairly cheap too.

I have a 383 in my chevy II 4.00 bore, 3.80 stroke ,6in rods ,10.25-1 comp ratio, dart heads, 425hp 454torque. Enough torque to twist a little chevy II to peices.

I have a 383 sitting on my engine stand waiting to go into My Monte, had the motor dynoed at 424 horses at the crank with 511 foot pounds of torque, forged rods, pistons and crank, studded 202 heads, with moderate porting and polishing, fully rollerized valve train, Man I gotta get my car together, so I can get speeding tickets in it
