Fuse Panel Help...running out of options
I am running out of places to wire into my fuse box under the dash. I'm looking for a permanent spot to run my Compressor to for my Airbags. I've already got my stereo and Airbag switches hooked up to it. I need a spot thats hot only when the ignition is in the "ON" position. Any ideas? I've got a temp spot for it but I'm looking for something more permanent.

you might want to run a relay from the battery to power it.

try making a splitter. and unhook things like glove box lights, and cigaratte lighters. These are what i would suggest.

Any idea which ones those are on the panel since most aren't labeled?

Your best bet would to get a small aux fuse panel, and run a relay to the battery, and use one of the IGN UNFUSED terminals to turn on the relay.

I believe that the cigarette lighter is hot all the time, not switched. Not a good idea for your compressor.

i have a question about the ign unfused. what exactly is it? is it just a port with no fuse? can you put some thing on each of those little prongs? like.... i need to find a place to put my new hei wire.... where should i wire that in? im thinking im not supposed to run it off the pink wire going to the starter.. would it be bad if i spliced it into that wire?

It is just a nother spot to put extra things on. they are hot with the ign. If you use them i would put an inline fuse there

you should run probally at least #8 wire to most compressors that are fused and also through a relay that is only hot when ignition is on. and cycles w/ psi switch.just remember bigger the compressor bigger power wire needs to be.

Try this, I'm going to add an extra fuse box that's switched, painless sell a kit but it's pretty pricey and you can do it yourself much cheaper.

Yep, send all your unwanted truck parts (particularly if they're a complete drum/drum power brake booster setup and a front swaybar and brackets) to ............(may cost you a little bit on shipping to get them over the Atlantic to me)!
Please post away, would be great if someone could add wire gauges for you guys as we use metric over here ( I would use for the power wire 4mm for 39 amps or 6mm for 50 amps, thinwall cable and the switch circuit doesn't need to be anywhere near as big as it takes very little current.)
