3M spray adhesive to keep the carpet from moving around after installed. The light bond stuff worked well for me. Not to much though.

Re: What will I need to install carpet on a vinyl floor truck?

I've put a bunch of carpet kits in from 67-87, reg cabs to my 91 crew cab i just did last week. I have never used any adhesive to put the carpet down. As far as I know, the factory never used adhesive. The molded kits lay in nice after trimming the excess off. Your door sill plates, shifter or t-case boots/covers and other little things should keep the carpet from moving completely.

Re: What will I need to install carpet on a vinyl floor truck?

again, I sound deadened the entire floor of my crew and the carpet still didn't move around. Maybe all the mass backing adding extra weight helps it out. You can always see what its like before the adhesive, and add it if your not satisfied. Its just like anything. People have done so many different things different ways and it works differently each time for each individual. One thing is for sure. You will love how it will quiet the cab down!!
