To all you guys that helped me with information, I think you. John Sanborn sent me the files that Lars wrote up and I go this beauty working. No power piston spring and the correct bowl gasket took care of everything.

New guy here. Glad to hear that you got your carb up and running good. I am adding on to this conversation incase anyone else is looking for help. I just rebuilt my first carb ever. It was the quadrajet 7043208. Pictures are worth a thousand words and videos, well....... Check this guy out on you tube. He is very good at explaing how these carbs work and how to rebuild and fix them. Check him out at this link.
