Long Step spare tire mount
Hello everyone. I'm new to the site. I recently bought a '78 C30 long bed step side. It used to be a Boston mosquito control truck. I'm actually looking for a spare tire mount or the information on where to get one. I know that the short is different from the long. I found a couple of different ones from suppliers but they look nothing like the originals. Any help or information would be super helpful.
Thanks, Dave |

Re: Long Step spare tire mount
i think there were only 3 options. In bed, glide out, and standard tire carriers. No difference in the short bed or long beds even if it was stepside

Re: Long Step spare tire mount
I think 78stepside is looking for the tire carrier that goes on the outside of the bed just in front of the rear fender.

Re: Long Step spare tire mount
You're correct. It's the outside spare tire carrier. 2 options for the long and the short. Apparently, the second owner of the truck threw it away years ago. If anyone knows of one for sale please let me know. Thanks everyone!

Re: Long Step spare tire mount
This guy has a series of videos. In one of them he talked about purchasing a spare tire bracket. Maybe a LMC product.
