Who has the best pricing for a complete short bed kit?

I'm looking to purchase a new short bed kit for my 1971 C10 and was wondering who may have the best pricing. Looking for recommendations based on price and fit quality from those who have previously purchased a complete short bed kit. I'm planning on getting one with the steel floor, stake holes and
chevy on the tailgate.

Thanks

I would personally buy AMD stuff because I'm almost positive they bought out the goodmark stuff.

because of the shipping costs the bed deal may end up being the closest dealer to you that will let you pick up the parts vs paying truck freight.

I know, however I must have it shipped. So price plus shipping is a major factor.

From what I have read where ever you get the kit make sure it is made by the Woodall Company. I know Southern Kentucky Classics and Classic Chevy Parts (Kansas City, MO) handle them. Probably others too.

Just My 2¢ worth.

Regardless of price you should choose a better kit instead of the better deal. The amount you save in shipping may be put right back into metalwork after you find out just how terrible some of these panels fit together.

Re: Who has the best pricing for a complete short bed kit?

I purchased a shortbed fleet kit from GMC Pauls.

The parts arrived in Woodall boxes (mentioned above). It took 2 buddies & I a solid day to assemble and install.

All of the pieces fit together well. You will loosely bolt all of the major components (floor, front panel, sides & tubs) together and tighten all fasteners after fitment.

The only issue I found was the mounting holes for bolting it down are slightly off. The bed needs to move about a quarter inch that will require slotting the holes in the frame mounts.

I have yet to install the tailgate.

Re: Who has the best pricing for a complete short bed kit?

I had a friend that was able to cut my lumber from the sawmill with notches. Got my ss screws from a screw shop in bulk, and plain steel bedstrips from lmc. The killer was waitin over six months for my wood to dry.

Read the same about So Ky Classics. No experience with them… Just what I've read.

Re: Who has the best pricing for a complete short bed kit?

I had to run a file through nearly every single bolt hole on my repop bed. I bought my bedsides from top banana and my floor, tailgate and front panel from soky. I'm still having an ongoing issue getting the bed to square up.
