Paneling from gas station bathroom to finish shop?

Y'all-
You ever been in a gas station bathroom, sitting there enjoying yourself and
look over and notice the plastic beaded paneling they finish those bathrooms with? It is hard, seems easy to clean, and would make a heck of a better finishing option for a work environment like a shop than commercial drywall. It's called FRP (Fiber-reinforced plastic) wallboard Here's a link:

I know it's spendy, but it'd be an alternative to folks who want something between their shop outer-wall or insulation and the inside where they are working. Anyone ever used it or have any knowledge about it?

Here's another link I found after a quick search. They have it in sizes from 4x8 to 4x12 sheets, all $0.98 per sq ft.

I built an entire food-processing facility with it. It's not bad to work with. Make sure you get the proper fasteners and joints. And if you cut it, make sure you use a finer-bladed saw. A ripping blade will make a mess of it.

Doesn't seem like a bad idea. Used in areas that have a potential to get messy, it would really make clean up go easier.

Gotta say...
From your title, I was coming in here to say "hell no!!" to the idea, because there is no way on earth I would want to recycle panelling from a gas station bathroom! LOL

i used that same paneling on the walls in our shop bathroom around the sink and behind the urinal
i laid it down and run 4 ft high about a foot off the floor (it covers from 1 to 5 ft high)
the guys in our shop are pigs, i swear they can get black gunk on the ceiling just washing their hands

Re: Paneling from gas station bathroom to finish shop?

Thanks for everyone's thoughts. After some thinking, it actually might be a better choice for folks working out of their home in an attached 1/2/3/4 whatever # car garage, where Sheetrock would normally be used to finish. It'd make for a lot less easily-damaged and easier to clean up wall-covering. 5/8" Sheetrock is still abt 1/3 the price, though. Those folks with a commercial shop or metal building probably wouldn't want to drop that much $$ of panelling the entire place. Still, it defiantly has its uses in our world. Just was wondering.

Here's a link from the Suburban section, not finishing a shop wall, but finishing their burbs headliner.

you still need the sheetrock behind the plastic paneling there's not much support there
i glued ours to the sheetrock after doing some repairs to the divider panel supports

Well, it looks like there are a lot of uses for this stuff, and I'll probably end up using some whenever I get a real shop. Thanks for the input.

Re: Paneling from gas station bathroom to finish shop?

That's similar to what I used on my garage walls and I love it. I got it from Lowes. I just checked their website but couldn't find it. It's maybe 1/8" or 3/16" thick and sheets are 4x8. But, it's smooth and looks just like a dry-erase board. They cost almost to the penny the same as drywall. You're supposed to install it over a hard flat surface but I put it right over the studs and insulation. The slight flex to the wall between the studs isn't a problem. I like it because it makes the garage really bright inside. I didn't glue it, I just used black drywall screws at the joints, then silicone on the joints. I like the look of the screws, kinda gives it an industrial look.

we used to call it "milk house paneling". You can hit it with a pressure washer and not be worried.
