Kinda illegal or not?

I shaved my truck completely this summer, had plans of putting side mirrors back on but I didn't find any I liked. Anyways, is it a major traffic violation if you don't have side mirrors(I still have a rearview) or is it only a 30-40 dollar ticket. Is this law any different in the states. (I might have a time reinsuring it though)

Most states that I know of will make you park it if you don't at least have left side mirror.

dependong on the year of the truck you may have to have two mirrors on the sides but the laws is at least one on the left. you wont pass inspection without it and you cold be pulled over for it if good ole smokey is in a ticket writing mood. dont chance it its safety

Check out the post "More pics of 'that 75'" or whatever exactly it's called in this section. Motorcycle mirrors are mirrors...

EXACTLY --- drive decent, obey signs, and don't speed (actually I like driving under the speed limit, it makes people look at my truck) nothing like rumbling down main at 20km/h

All states seem to differ on what is legal, but I do believe a drivers side mirror is required....

In California, a driver side and interior mirror are required by law. You should be OK though.

The coolest deal I ever saw for a mirror was some mirrors mounted to the vent wing WINDOW. They actually had a glass shop drill a couple holes through the glass and mounted a really cool set of billet mirrors to them.

GA I know requires 2 mirror on most vehicles. Always one on the driverside and a center OR a passengerside.

I run WINK mirrors in both of my trucks. Love them, I can see out the passengerside window.

here in idaho, you only have to have the rearview mirror mounted inside on the windshield unless you are towing a trailer, then you have to have the one on the windshield and also a left door mirror.

If you dont have any mirrors and a loud stereo. How would you ever know if a cop is trying to pull you over. Leave them off and never get another ticket again

I beleive it is drivers side mirror and a second usable mirror (inside rear view mirror or passenger side mirror)

My friend got a ticket in his '78 for not having a passenger side mirror. He has a driver side and rear view mirror.

To add to the confusion, I also heard if you have both driver and passenger side mirrors, you don't need a rear view.

In California, if your rear window is tinted, then you must have both sides mirrors, but you do not need the rearview. If your rear window isn't tinted, then you can have only the drivers side, and rearview.

In AZ I only had a driver side and window mirror on my Jeep. Then my gf broke my window mirror off but it was ok because I had a rack/tire carrier and couldn't see out that way anyways. I never had any probs with just having the driveside mirror.

My challenger had only the driver door mirror and the window mirror. But I have always been under the impression that you needed at least 2 mirrors no matter what state. Best bet would be to contact DMV.

My first car was a brand new 1980 Toyota Celica ST bought in Fremont,CA. In 1980 ST's did not come with passenger side mirrors off the showroom. The GT's came with the passenger side mirror. I remember back then a lot of other makes and models having no passenger side mirror.
