Obsession

Hello everyone, This is the start of my build named Obsession. It is a 67 small back window stepper. Actually started building this truck over 20 years ago.I removed the body and sandblasted the frame. Painted and rebuilt the whole front end. Installed a 468 bigblock w/350 trans. Intended on going through the whole truck but got married, bought a house, you know how life work's. Ended up putting the truck in the garage for about 15 years. Now it's time to start back on the build.
Plans are to lower the stance, narrow the rear, and install 18x12 or 20x12 in the rear or a little wider if they will fit. 18x8.5 up front.Install vintage air, power one piece windows, power door locks and push button start. It's gonna be a long road, but it's also been a long time comming. Just hope it all works out.

Re: Obsession

Found some more early pics. This is the reason for the 68 fenders. They are rust free. Don't know if I'll keep the side markers or not. Still trying to deside on that one.

Re: Obsession

A few pics of the inside. The truck is in pretty good shape for it's age.

Re: Obsession

Got started on a few things this past weekend. Removed the old fuel cell and mocked up the new fuel tank. Did not have any help at the time so I elected to remove the rear crossmember and just slide the tank into the rails. Had a pb rear crossmember so I checked the fit on it as well. It's nice to have parts that fit.

Re: Obsession

Also had the idea to build my own rear sway bar. So I started with a 7/8" bar and bushings an a piece of cardboard. And then cut it out of 1/4" flat bar.

Re: Obsession

After checking for fitment I drilled the mounting holes for the rod ends. Finally got the rod ends and threaded inserts for the 3/4" tubing. now just have to line everything up and weld it up.
