Gas Caps
Just a quick question/poll: How many Suburban owners are running an original tank and filler pipe? Where did you get your cap, and is it locking, or non locking? I have a locking on mine, but it don't seem to fit right on the original pipe. I have another original pipe from a GMC sub, and it don't seem to fit and lock correctly on it either. What are you running on your Sub?

Re: Gas Caps
I'll provide an exceedingly lame out of focus pic of the cap on my burb. It's the old "big eared" vented utility cap used on lots of models where appearance was not an issue. I'm just guessing that the simple but decent looking caps used on pickups were not used on Suburbans since they were behind a gas door.

Re: Gas Caps
I have an aftermarket locking cap on mine that fits well. I believe it is a Stant brand, but I don't have a clue on the part number. It's been about 20 years since I bought it. I'll go take a look at it and see if there are any numbers on it.

Re: Gas Caps
Thanks everyone.I had considered using a non locking original and putting a lock in the door but thought it would look too tacky.

Re: Gas Caps
I never thought of that. I'll check the local salvage yards to see what I can find. Thanks for the suggestion

Re: Gas Caps
I finally found a locking cap that fits my Sub perfectly. Got it at O'reilly. It's a Master Pro Select, part #5091-Locking Fuel Cap
