Ls oil pans
Lurking here alot for information, working on a 5.3 swap into my 64. This is a great source for assistance, inspiration and ideas. Went through the oil pan search and came across a good website that shows good images of these pans. GMpartsdirect.com, type in an oil pan part number in the search and the majority of them have good images with dimensions. It also has the parts associated with it, windage tray, pickup tube, etc.. Also shows application if you want to visit your local salvage yard or search on ebay. I attached some documents showing a few hopefully it comes out alright.
I'm sure there are many other part numbers out there, these are the ones i was looking at, feel free to throw more part numbers at this. Thanks to all those sharing their knowledge on here it really helps. Attachments did not work, tried to make it easy with pictures. gmpartsdirect.com and search these numbers: http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/ 12628771 12631828 12640748 12581209 Front sump, not much use to us. 19212593 Go to Summit for an image with dimensions for this one. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/nal-19212593 302-1 and 302-2 Holley swap pans, Holley.com for dimensions. https://www.holley.com/products/acce...ns/parts/302-1 https://www.holley.com/products/acce...ns/parts/302-2 LS1Tech has a great thread also. http://ls1tech.com/forums/conversion...-oil-pans.html

Re: Ls oil pans
If you are real low, any pan that is level with the front cross member is what you need. I have heard CTS-V, H2 Hummer and the hot rod oil pans work well. The summit one you show is the one I wanted to put on my 65 but am too lazy to pull the motor. my truck isnt very low, 4/5 drop so a stock pan works for me.
Good luck!

Re: Ls oil pans
Ended up going with the F body pan, 12628771. My truck is pretty low so I wanted it tucked up as much as I could get. Still doing chassis work so i have not even set it in yet.

Re: Ls oil pans
I have the CTSV pan in my 68, it does not hang below the front crossmember. I got it off of ebay for a pretty good price it was pulled off a new car.

cts-v pan here on a 5.3 in a '67 on air bags. no troubles as the cross member hangs lower than the pan by about 3/4"

Re: Ls oil pans
Anyone with a CTS-V pan on an 80's model? Just wondering where the bottom sits in relation to the cross member.
