well optioned 66 GMC with buckets on ebay
3/4 ton long bed, 351, power steering, power brakes and tach.
The item number is 181652845097 http://www.ebay.com/itm/181652845097...097%26_rdc%3D1 This is not mine but would be nice. Maybe someone could post pictures or the page snapshots before it disappears. I would do it but I'm using my phone. |

This truck proves the saying " you can't judge a book by the cover". A truck with painted grill and bumper ( most judge as a low buck truck ) has power steering, power brakes, big block and factory bucket seats. This vehicle was carefully selected for a specific purpose by its original owner, my educated guess: hauling a camper across the U.S.

Is the tach really a factory? To me it looks like some one just put a Sun tach in the dash but I am no gmc expert by any means. I am not criticizing just curious

The tach is correct. It was installed incorrectly but that is it. You can tell by the font and shade of green. It is a sun tach.

... also interesting, 3/4 ton, but not a vulcanized rear cab mount, was this a gmc thing?

Yes, American built 3/4 ton GMC's had the more solid 1/2 ton type, not sure about Canadian built 3/4 ton GMC's. There was a time in history when GMC's had a little more to offer than just a different nameplate.
