It lives! (Part 2)
Part 1 here:
Put in a new radiator last weekend and was able to get it up to temp. By the end of the day, it was idling and running much smoother. This video was after we first got it to idle (first time in 15 years or so). Am super pumped I did this. Was a great learning experience. There is a ton of white smoke coming out the exhaust. Am guessing head gasket and hoping it isn't a cracked block.

I plan on doing the same in two weeks to get mine running again. I hope it idles as good as yours. It's been sitting 15 plus years as well.

I hope you don't have a cracked head....I did a similar project a couple years ago and it blew white clouds......ended up being a crack in the head between the intake and exhaust valves on #1 I believe. Congrats on getting it going so much fun!!

1) Drained what oil I could and refilled it. 2) Flushed the block, drained the rad, and refilled it. 3) New plugs 4) Poured some marvel mystery oil in the cylinders and slowly moved the fan back and forth to break everything free. Did this a few times over a few days. 5) Rebuilt carb (was full of varnish) 6) New VC gasket Also ended up needed a new starter solenoid, fuel pump, points, and condensor, and ignition switch. I'm probably forgetting a few things. Now that I can get it up to temp I need to do another oil change and another coolant flush. Let us know how it turns out for you. Good luck!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The engine is so dirty I can't do a visual inspection. Now that I can get it up to temp, I'm going to work on getting the engine cleaned off so I can better see what I'm doing.
