'66 Shock Replacement

I have a 1966 C20 that is in need of some new shocks.
It's lowered 2.5 inches on drop spindles in the front, and has 3 inch drop springs in the back.

I'm wondering if I need to buy drop shocks or just do factory height shocks? Also looking for any suggestions on what to purchase for it.

Thanks!

Re: '66 Shock Replacement

The front is only lowered on spindles so we can safely say a stock shock would be fine since the actual spring travel hasn't changed. The back however, with three inches removed from the travel obviously has changed. Three inches is not too dramatic, (I am down two inches myself out back on my '66 and it seems fine with stock shocks.) and most drop shocks say for 4"or more. If measuring and screwing around with different shocks seem like a p.i.a, then I personally would go stock.

Re: '66 Shock Replacement

A shock has a normal 3" of travel,up or down. Best to take tape measure and read ride height, +-3", get shocks. I used Pro Comp 3000s with bags, now Toxic from them. Most shocks will give ride height. Brand is up to you.
When I say "normal" not a 14" travel off road truck.
