Paint poll

hey everyone, I found this image of a photochopped paint job and it was black and red, so I photochopped it again to meet my monochrome palette. just wondering what you think. I personally like it, but lots of folks tell me it's too much?

Re: Paint poll

Re: Paint poll

But, you have to do the truck to match a cool paint job. You can't have a bunch of crap quality elsewhere on the truck and expect a nice paint job to save the people from laughing at you.
Its about the whole enchilada, not just the sauce on the top.

Re: Paint poll

That is a sharp looking paint scheme there. If your truck can stand up to the expectations of what is under that paint, then go for it.

Re: Paint poll

Not a fan of crab claw shaped stenciled flames at all, but those are not too bad since they are swept long.

I always liked flame jobs, I just don't know if they would grow old pretty quick......

Re: Paint poll

I like flames but I like the multicolored old school type, my wife is a flame freak she had them on the last two trucks she owned. but it looks good to me.

Re: Paint poll

I like it, but once you do a really really nice paint job, you start getting afraid to park it places. You end up being on of those guys who parks 90 miles away so you dont get a door ding. I do like the paint scheme though.

Re: Paint poll

I think it looks nice, but simple paint jobs are timeless. I would hate to paint something like that, spending all kinds of money and regreting it a couple years down the road.

Re: Paint poll

Classic "gloss" black is timeless and hard to beat. Plus the money you save could add to the fun under the hood.

Re: Paint poll

These are all true and honest comments, but its really gonna set it off if you do the flame scheme throughout the truck. Have you ever done a paint job? Dont mean to question your skills if you have just wonderin.
I have, and I hated all the freekin work. Three solid weeks, 12 -14 hours a day. $3000. It was awsome, for about two months. Drivin, loadin on the trailer, wrenchin on it, racin it, bugs, bird crap, slingin rocks at it with the weed whipper, all just trashed the paint.
They say hind sight is 20/20, I did it just to say I did it.
If thats what your into and it makes you happy, go for it.

Re: Paint poll

I'm not a big fan of flames but I never thought of monochromatic. I think it looks great. I would do it if I wasn't just building a daily driver. Thanks for posting it.
