49 windshield trim help

Trying to remove the windshield, it looks to be original and the rubber is hard as a rock.

I've removed the inner/outer center pieces and was trying to remove the chrome trim. I can't seem to get the chrome off without damaging it.

Is there a good way to remove this piece so it can be saved?

You'll have to take a utility knife and cut around the glass down in the seam where the glass sits. Its only about 1/4" in that area and once cut the windows will come out making it easier to get the trim out. Don't force the trim it will get out of shape and you won't be able to get it back in.

Thanks will work on it some more, the rubber is rock hard.

Follow Dave's advice and cut away the rubber. I'd cut it on the inside and trim it away so you can lift the windshields out and then take the glass and rubber off the truck and finish cutting the rubber apart to get the trim and glass out.
