Re: Engine oil cooler
I'm running an engine oil cooler....however I'm also turbocharged, and the turbo puts a lot of heat into the oil.
Regardless, an engine oil cooler is never a bad idea. A cool engine is a happy engine.

Re: Engine oil cooler
Not running an oil cooler on my install. You don't want to run an oil cooler unless it's built into the radiator or on a thermostat; running engine oil through a cooler that's "on full time" can keep the oil too cold.

Re: Engine oil cooler
Not running one either. Heat in the oil radiates into the rest of the engine, so the regular cooling system will handle its heat load normally. Oil coolers usually are more useful in FI apps where your artificially generating more heat that would be there, or in an industrial engine that runs in place all day and doesn't have an air-cooling system. (for reference, they'll use fluid pumps through resevoirs and oil coolers as needed)

Re: Engine oil cooler
Just some info for you to.
If you are considering using a more-efficient cooler for your automatic or installing an engine oil cooler, first consider installing an oil-temperature gauge. If your oil temp never exceeds 200 degrees Fahrenheit, a cooler probably isn’t necessary. But if you find that your ATF consistently spikes higher than 210 degrees Fahrenheit, the heat’s on to install a better cooler.

Re: Engine oil cooler
Thanks guys. The original V6 had the optional oil cooler and one of the lines failed on me, just thought if it wasn't need I'd get rid of it on the new motor too.
