LS1 Motor mount problem
I put a 5.3 LS1 in my 1966 c10 using CPP engine mounts. The problem that I am having is the exhaust manifolds are hitting them. The manifolds are rear dump but they hit on the first 2 cylinders. Has anyone had this problem? What kind of headers could I use to get around this problem? Thanks

Re: LS1 Motor mount problem
I used ECE mounts and have two different pairs of truck manifolds that both hit the frame near the collector. I hear that trailblazer SS manifolds give much more clearance. You may want to check the LSX swap section.

Re: LS1 Motor mount problem
I had the same issue, I used pol perches and Sanderson csls1 shortie headers, problem solved.

Re: LS1 Motor mount problem
I used the SS trailblazer manifolds and they work fine. Needed a very small amount clearances in the right side near the back of engine. They are very inexpensive as well.

Re: LS1 Motor mount problem
Thanks for the info. I talked to a friend of mine and I think we are just going to make some stainless headers. We are going to make them like an old coupe style header. The ones that go out at an angle and have a straight pipe that all 4 cylinders go into. Has anyone made something like this before?
Pictures Please. |

Re: LS1 Motor mount problem
I just swapped my 5.3 into my truck 64 c10 and I'm all the way back and my trans is about a half inch from the motor any ideas? It had a sbc in it before so why am I having issues?

Re: LS1 Motor mount problem
Sent measurements in to street and performance and they did a great job!
