Well the VIN tag matches the title as far as SPID its been painted over and not able to read it where at on the frame is the VIN will check that once weather is nice. So its possible someone put the cab on a earlier frame.

It is possible, you wont know until you check the frame numbers. Are the rivets correct on the VIN TAG? More pics of the interior and under the hood would help. The big No No for me is the drums/6 lugs 2WD. I have never met anyone who loved drum brakes so much that they took off disks to install drums.

To answer your other question, you can get drop coils (if it has coils in the rear) to get what your looking for in the back, they also have drop coils for the front, they have kits to change it to spindles/disks for six lugs. Just remember when you start dropping the stance to keep an eye on the rest of the suspension for changes.

What is the 5th digit in the serial number. If its a 1 then the truck is a 71 if its a 0 the its a 70.

Re: 1971 swb c10

Frame vin needs to be matched to the body vin to avoid swap problems. Most DMVs will type the words coming from your lips for a title so anything on the title doesn't mean anything. This can be a suspension swap, cab swap, frame swap, or someone who told the DMV 1971 instead of 1970. Make sure to get your ducks in a row to avoid issues.

Title and vin plate on cab both say CE141B6xxxxx (anyone have pics of factory rivets on cab plate so I can compare ) . Once the weather is nice I'll look on frame to see what it says before buying the disc brake conversion kit.

Re: 1971 swb c10

You have a 71 frame cab sitting on a 67 to 70 frame and that frame may have been cut to make the truck a short box.

Re: 1971 swb c10

Okay went out and found me a 71-72 SWB rolling chassis to put my body parts on since it was cheapier then doing a disc brake swap plus I can clean up the chassis before hand. Then when done I'll put my rolling chassis on CL and see if someone buys it to get my $$ back. Also scored me a grille to replace the one I have.

Where inside mirror attaches is the metal flat or is there a raised triangle shaped pad? 71s had the raised area.

Ps nice truck
