battery tray

is the battery tray a bolt on or welded on

The tray itself is spot welded to a couple of side hanger brackets. That assembly is then bolted into the truck.

Bolt on. Here is an image of my replacement battery tray bolted on to the radiator support during test fitting. Don't be surprised if a couple of the mounting holes don't line up. Aftermarket is like that.

I bought a tray for a 72 and welded it to the side braces in place of the original. I don't like that original style top strap as much as the newer wedge clamp type.
