over heating
I have a 1960 Chevy 1/2 ton fleetside,short bed with a 235 in line 6 cylinder. new 3 cor aluminum radiator, new water pump, hoses, ect but it still over heats just a short drive time. which way should the stock fan go on?

It blows air onto the engine and pulls air through the radiator. Do you have a good temp gauge on the truck?

I just installed a new temp. gauge. it was showing about 220 - 230 degrees after just less than a mile. I've change thermostat and timing, although I might be too advanced

Heating up that quick makes me think your not getting the proper water flow. I don't think its an air issue.

Hi heres my 2 cents for what its worth,did you have overheating problem before you changed all the parts rad,pump, hoses or was that done to solve overheating problem? could be as simple as air traped in system or as bad as cracked head or blown head gasket just need more info,Id try burping it,you can find out how online, or may search this site for old post on overheating
