Receiver hitch with stock bumper pic

I have a 6000 pound class 3 receiver for my pickup, it looks identical to the one that they sell in the LMC catalog.I also have the factory style rear bumper for my pickup, however I do not have the brackets for the bumper yet.
When I mocked up the receiver to the frame, with no bumper, it sure looks like it's hanging really low. Maybe it will look okay when the bumper is above it? I was just wondering if anybody has is stock rear bumper with a classroom 3 receiver.
I am just trying to figure out whether I'm going to use this hitch, or have a custom one made.

What type of bumper are you going to be installing?

Picture of my hidden hitch with flip-up license plate behind a rear sport bumper from ECE (Early Classic Enterprises)

I believe they are rated at 5000lbs.

Well ot looks like my idea is already taken! I wanted to counter sink a hitch receiver up behind the bumper so you couldn't see it, but when you needed it you could just use a 6" drop hitch and it would be at the right height.

Yeah, just like that. That looks just fine, when the bumper is installed.
Thank you.

Re: Receiver hitch with stock bumper pic

I had U-Haul install a 5000 lb. (7500 with load level bars) in 2005. Back then, with lighting, it cost $260 installed.

Re: Receiver hitch with stock bumper pic

I took a class III receiver hitch from a 90's square body Jeep Cherokee (same frame width) and beefed it up with gussets...That put the receiver opening behind the license plate. I notched the license backing plate and made a flip up license plate holder from a spring loaded gate hinge and a piece of 1/8" aluminum sheet metal...The hitch is stronger than most class IIII hitches and can be used on dropped trucks...
