That old York type compressor went on every kind of thing that had wheels for a long time Fords had them and some Dodges too, I think as well as some John Deere's before they went to the GM Delco type A-6 on their tractors. [I remember dad taking a knife and cutting the A/C belt on a truck that some workers were sitting in eating lunch got the truck hot it wasn't two months old. A week or two later we had a combine down in the field and the tech wanted to go to town to get a compressor dad said get it off that truck right there]
Anyway the thing I was starting this thread about is some stuff called Freeze 12. A little while after the freon went stupid crazy this stuff came onto the market as a option to replace the freon with this stuff for a lot less money. Last time I bought some it was like $2.99 per can. It comes in the same type of can that the freon does so all of the taps and gauges work with it and it cools just as well and I have never had any durability problems with it. Jim |
