Is this the correct front bumper impact strip
Hello,
This first pic is the one I have in my 1989 Pick-up that has the front of a Crew-Cab for the same model year but mine is a standard two door. Second pic is from LMC.com, part in question is Item 4. It seems to be the same but do any one have personal experience with this LMC item, I mean is it installed with it's own tabs like the OEM? Do you know a place to find the right-side one, cause only the left side is for sell at LMC. Third pic is my truck, inherited from my Dad. |

The 81-87 molding would not have the same ribbed appearance. You will need to see if you can find a 88-91 impact molding.

Re: Is this the correct front bumper impact strip
my 89 is missing a chrome trim on the pass side (I see the same groove for it)
but the drivers still had it

Re: Is this the correct front bumper impact strip
Now I understand why the top groove had that extra tab at both ends of the trim strip. Mine use the all black ones, but in the case of black with chrome they just added that chrome strip, seems like a good engineering solution.

Re: Is this the correct front bumper impact strip
I found this other trim piece from the Classics Parts Catalog, Part 65-1602 (that it is not pictured), it says for 88-98, it seems to have round thing at the end (at least for the trim with the chrome, that's the one that it's pictured. Could I modify this piece to make it work?

Re: Is this the correct front bumper impact strip
The 88-98 will not work...but lots of 88-91 suburbans had these strips...pick a part /auto wrecker/craigslist.
