Disc Brake Xmember Swap Verification-Blazer

Went thru the FAQ's... everyone "mentions" the later model C10 crossmember swap to get 5 lug and disc brakes...

I would like to VERIFY that a 1987 BLAZER 2wd retains the same geometry... I have a hit on a completey assembled Xmember front up here but its off of a Blazer and I want to ensure that the blazer retains the same GEO up front (since its a rear leaf chassis even tho its 2wd)

87 BLAZER frame the same as a C10 frame?

Any other issues with using 1987 Blazer front Xmember/brakes/arms etc??

HA FML... wrong section... doing research and it should be in the 66' section.

Re: Disc Brake Xmember Swap Verification-Blazer

the last year for a 2wd Blazer is '82. If your suspension is out of a 1987 Blazer, it is going to be a solid, leaf sprung live axle.

However, if it is bolted into a Blazer correctly, then it will bolt into your '66.

Well in 87 they made both a k5 blazer and a s10 blazer,If its from a k5 blazer its the same as a pickup,If its from a s10 blazer it won't work at all.

It won't be the same as a 2wd pickup in a 1987 blazer, because GM never made any that year.

But what if he got the year wrong or someone swapped a 4x4 blazer over to a 2wd?

Re: Disc Brake Xmember Swap Verification-Blazer

Let me try it this way:

The '82 2wd full size Blazer (C10516) front suspension crossmember and assembly is common with the squarebody C10 pickup (C100 03).

There was no 2wd full size Blazer in '87 (all full size Blazer were 4wd), so the original question is not valid.
