Charging output goes up and down ?

When driving my truck the lights will get super bright then go back to normal and my battery gage will will show much more charge . Whats going on here. This happens frequently, I like the brighter lights but I know something is overcharging. Bad voltage regulator ? Thanks

sounds like the regulator......you could take the alt. and get it tested.....
if it's bad just convert to a internal regulated unit....
use a 83 camaro 95 amp unit....it rocks and won't break your budget
