98 305 to 99 350 questions.
Hey guys, I just picked up a 98 Silverado 2wd for a new work truck so I can stop beating up my Yukon daily from picking up steel or getting in it dirty. Anyways I picked it up for a good deal from a buddy for a thousand bucks. It apparently has blown head gaskets, but I found another motor out of a 99 Suburban with a 5.7L, for a good deal I was just going to swap in.. From what I've read the heads are the same so I wont have to worry about the exhaust manifolds or exhaust bolting up, as well as the intake. The plan is to use that long block and put my existing manifold and tbi onto the motor. If I am assuming correctly the computer should be able to re learn the increase in fuel/air demand and adjust accordingly correct? Or am I wrong, also are there any more concerns I should be aware of, I havent found much on this subject.
Thanks for any input!

Re: 98 305 to 99 350 questions.
Using the 305 wiring harness is ok but the ECM for the 305 is not the same as the 350. That being said it will start and run with the 305 ecm but if you want the 350's power and economy change to the 99 ecm.
