3/4 ton coils in 1 ton front end

hey all. I am building a 72 Chevy 1 ton, flatdeck to haul my car trailer. I am going to lower it as much as I can, within reason. will the 3/4 ton front springs work.???

Probably won't lower it much, and it might actually make it taller.
Stock springs set (about) the same height, when new.
The spring rates are different and the ride (with 3/4 ton springs) will be softer,when unloaded.
The new 3/4 ton springs could set higher than the old 1 ton springs.

who would have thought ? they used to sell dropped spindles for dually a long time ago. must be dropped springs out there ?

Have you considered cutting a half or full coil?

Btw on half tons there is a different rate small block and big block spring. Not sure on 67-72 but years ago we converted a 1/2 ton diesel suburban to 3/4 ton and wanted to be sure it had enough spring in front. Uric all of the 3/4 ton springs had the same part number regardless of engine. It sat level and rode great for over 200k miles after the swap.

no one else have any ideas.???Wideside 72, I will cut coils but was hoping for another way too. maybe step lower A-arm.??
