Headlight question….

Ok guys I have a 99 2 Door 2WD Tahoe and I'm changing out my headlights and grille. I need to know where to find a headlight housing for these lights. I have new headlights, but no way of securing them. When I bought the truck the passenger side was rigged up in place with tape. So this is the reason for the change.

Re: Headlight question….

That is a GMT-400 platform vehicle. Production ran primarily from 1988-1998, though it ran through 2002 in limited configurations. I would suggest posting this in that section of the forum. The year of your Tahoe is less important than the body style.

FWIW, you have the base model or work truck front with H6054 sealed beam lamps, as opposed to composite lamps. Are you keeping the H6054 size or are you converting to the composite? Can you post pictures of what all you do have? There should be a light bucket with two adjusters, a spring, and a retaining ring that holds the bulb in the bucket. If you do not have a wrecking yard hand I would suggest an LMC Truck catalog.

Re: Headlight question….

Well I ripped everything apart this weekend and found out what I was missing. The passenger side was missing the silver bucket that the light sits in. I ordered what I needed from LMC Truck, so I should it tomorrow. I really appreciate the input. Ordering parts for the front was confusing w/o seeing pics, since everyone assumes a 99 Tahoe automatically came with the composite style headlights and grille. Thanks for your help!!!!

You are very welcome. I have owned one with that front myself and worked on/maintained others. If you like the look of that front end and just wish it had more light output you do have some really good options too, it's funny but I think the work truck front ends have better lighting options than the uplevel front ends.
