1962 chevy pickup master cylinder problem

I have installed a new master cylinder, slave cylinder, and all break lines on my 62 chevy. The problem is that when I try to bleed the breaks, it engages my slave cylinder. I'm a missing something here? Please help..thanks in advance

It sounds like you have the wrong side of the master hooked up the clutch slave cylinder. These aren't dual master cylinders in the conventional sense. I believe the passenger side is for the clutch, and the drivers side is for the brakes. They are single individual master cylinders housed in a common casting.

Good luck, and welcome to the forum!

So you have a dual master cly. with a push rod from the brake pedal to the brakes and a push rod from the clutch pedal to the clutch. if your saying when ya push on the brake pedal it pumps the clutch slave cly.?

Perhaps these pages from the 1960 Chevy Truck Shop Manual will help:
